Title: Energy storage system management and control in smart grid
Session Chairs: Asst.Prof.Dr. Jonglak Pahasa
University of Phayao
Description:
The increasing of distributed renewable energy resources (RES) such as wind and solar generation in smart grid cause energy storage system (ESS) management and control are very important research topics. Due to the investment cost of ESS, the size of ESS is the first consideration when contemplating the installation of ESS in smart grid. In additions, intelligence management of ESS is able to improve life time of ESS. Besides, appropriate control of ESS is able to improve smart grid ancillary services such as load frequency control and voltage control. This session aims to investigate the advantages of management and control of ESS such as battery, flywheel, and super capacitor, integrated into smart grid.

Electronics
Title: Analog integrated circuit design and its applications
Session Chairs: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Winai Jaikla
Description:
Today electronics industry has been remarkably developed especially in terms of parts and devices. The demand for high performance analog circuits with emphasis on low power consumption, high speed (bandwidth) with a low overall component count is ever increasing. In terms of analog circuit design, new and distinguished techniques and methods have continuously been introduced to create up-to-date circuits to meet the stringent specifications of the overall circuit solutions. The choice of active building blocks (ABBs) plays an important role in designing the overall circuit solution to achieve performance while still employing minimum number of devices.        The aim of this special issue is to bring together original research and tutorial papers that address different aspects of current/voltage-mode ABBs and design of new circuits using these ABBs. For this special issue, original research and tutorial papers are solicited in the following areas:
• New circuit principles for current/voltage-mode circuit design
• Low-power, low component count current/voltage-mode circuits and systems techniques
• New principles and theory of current/voltage-mode active building blocks
• New circuit techniques for low transistor count, reduced area current/voltage-mode circuits
